The University of Texas at El Paso Department of Music is pleased to announce its third, 2016 UTEP Piano Competition.

PROCEDURES AND DATES TO REMEMBER ¡Application deadline is Friday, December 18^th, 2015. After application materials are received and screened, a pool of no more than five finalists per category will be selected. Finalists will be notified of their status by Monday, January 4^th, 2016. The UTEP Piano Area will determine specific performance and rehearsal times for Friday and Saturday, January 29^th and 30^th, 2016 for each finalist and notify the finalists about those times by Friday, January 15^th, 2016. Final Rounds are on Friday, January 29^th, 2016 (High School) and Saturday, January 30^th, 2016 (Collegiate) at UTEP and will be open to the public. Finalists will perform for an invited panel of judges. Decisions of the judges are final and may not be challenged. All finalists will receive written comments from the judges and may discuss their performance with the judges after the winners are announced and the competition is over. Announcement of all awards will follow an artists’ recital, free and open to the public, taking place on Saturday, January 30^th, 1:00 PM.
